“How can we effectively manage the participation and progress of customers in our programme?”

“In successfully deploying this application into the first three NHS Trusts, CES has shown its ability to deal with and manage multiple stakeholders” – Kathleen Houston, SCHWL

The client:

The SCHWL is Scotland’s national centre responsible for promoting the wellbeing of people at work, providing both employers and employees with support, advice and resources.

The challenge:

The SCHWL’s Vocational Rehabilitation Project provides support and counselling to individuals recovering from work-related injuries or illnesses. The SCHWL approached CES to find a means of both facilitating and following the progress of participants through the programme.

The technology:

SQL Server database

ASP.NET 2.0 Web application

The solution:

CES developed ‘Rehab’, a bespoke web-based application which enables the SCHWL team to register enrolments and referrals,  to assign a case manager, and to record telephone interviews and all supplementary information relating to an individual’s participation.

The application is built to the National Clinical Data Standards, and enables access according to role, therefore safeguarding data security and ensuring the SCHWL meets its obligations towards its customers. Because configuration settings are included in standard files, the application can be easily deployed in different locations – piloted at NHS Tayside, it has subsequently been rolled out at NHS Borders and NHS Lothian.
