Microsoft .NET
Microsoft .NET sits behind many of today’s business applications. There are good reasons for this.
Microsoft .NET provides a set of controls and functionality that can be used in desktop applications or web based solutions. This includes the intuitive data collection with interactive fields and validation feedback we have come to expect from a modern application. It provides a full range security options, allowing information to be communicated and stored in the appropriate way.

At CES
At CES we have developed in Microsoft .NET for several years, building business solutions using Web Applications, Web Services and SharePoint sites. These have the advantage of being browser based and easily accessible, while integrating with other Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory to provide the appropriate user security. Web Services allow information to be managed behind the scenes.
Microsoft .NET 4
The latest release of Microsoft .NET offers many new opportunities for Business Solutions. These include new client functionality improving the collection and display of data, along with improvements to background information management.

As Developers .NET 4 offers a number of new methods for building and maintaining solutions. These offer both ways of improving the user interface, collection and display of information, and adding new functionality such as Work Flow and dynamic controls supported by Ajax through Microsoft Content Delivery Network (CDN).
The .NET Framework is particularly supportive of agile development – the faster development through more flexible tools that easily incorporate amendments to design through the development process. As developers we now look to use Model View Controller (MVC) as part of our ASP.NET web based solutions or Windows Presentations Foundation (WPF) for desktop solutions.
